TINAPA knowledge city, Calabar, Cross River State, has expressed its
readiness to host the 2013 Software Nigeria conference, competition and
exhibitions, even as competitors battle for N20 million prize stake.
According to the organizers of the event, the Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON), come October 22 to 23, all roads will lead to Tinapa, where the International software conference will engage renowned ICT professionals and stakeholders from the United States, Finland, South Korea, Ghana and South Africa to brainstorm on “Software Strategies for Retooling the Workforce” (SORWORK).
ISPON President, Chris Uwaje said the National Software competition domain has been fired up by bold entries from renowned universities and polytechnics.
Expected to compete at the National Software Competition, according to Uwaje are more than 20 teams made up of 60 code warriors from Nigeria’s tertiary Institutions, adding that the defending champion is Federal University of Technology, Minna, who won the 1st Prize in 2012.
He said this year’s stake is high – with monetary value expected to be over N20 million in cash, entrepreneurship incubator and mentoring facilities.
