Nigeria: Stephen Keshi Picks the Coach of the Year 2013 Award

In what looks like missions impossible, Stephen Keshin, the Senior Coach of Nigeria's Super Eagle, a one time veteran defender, wadded through all huddles that tried to beclouded his ambitions in life and got this highest honour as a coach.

Keshin's achievements speak for him. In the Nigeria's national team where several foreign technical consultants with frightening credentials failed, he got fantastic results.

He led the Nigeria's Super Eagles to qualify for the senior world cup coming up in Brazil 2014. He led the Nigeria's Under - 17 Team to win the U-17 World Cup 2013 UAFA  and thus making Nigeria the first country to win that trophy for 4 times.

Should we say the hands of fate stand strong for him? No. I think it is better to say that he is one of the great brains that we have in Nigeria that has manifested his true essence in the field of football.  There are many of his likes. We just have to give them the opportunity and environment to prove their talents.

Great kudos, Steve.
